About
Welcome to Torchy's Tacos Austin, a vibrant culinary gem nestled at 1801 E 51st St Building D, Austin, TX 78723. This taco haven is not just a spot for a quick meal, but a lively gathering place filled with the spirit of Austin.
Every taco lover knows that great food and exceptional service can transform a casual meal into a cherished experience, and this is what Torchy's Tacos effortlessly delivers. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by an inviting atmosphere buzzing with energy. The friendly staff, passionate about their craft, created a sense of community, making everyone feel welcome.
One of the standout features of Torchy's Tacos is their secret menu, an insider’s treasure trove of mouthwatering options. Take Naughty Santa, a delightful combination of shrimp and chorizo that left taste buds dancing with joy. As customer Beth Nichols Coulson expressed, this dish is just one example of the culinary magic that awaits you.
The ambiance at Torchy’s enhances the experience—patio seating under the Texas skies is ideal for sunny days, allowing you to savor your meal while soaking in the outdoors. It's a perfect spot for friends to gather, as Abelardo Surigao III fondly recalls the many lunches spent here during high school, reflecting on the good times and delicious bites shared.
For families, like Guadalupe Valdez-Infante and her son, Torchy’s has become a delightful breakfast tradition. The accommodating nature of the staff, who are happy to customize orders, creates a welcoming experience even for the littlest diners. After all, winning a 2-year-old's heart with tacos is no easy feat!
And let's not overlook the beverages and friendly bartenders who round out the lively scene. Customers rave about the tasty drinks that perfectly complement the tantalizing tacos. With every bite and sip, Torchy's Tacos Austin invites you to indulge in a lively fiesta of flavors, textures, and aromas.
If you're looking for a place that serves up not just delightful food but also a warm atmosphere and top-notch service, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Torchy's Tacos. You might just find yourself returning time after time, just like the loyal patrons who've made Tacos a part of their daily lives.
“ We had lunch at the 51st Street location. Casey was awesome! He recommended tacos off the secret menu. They were all amazing but our favorite was Naughty Santa, it had shrimp and chorizo. We will definitely go back. ”
“ Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during junior and senior year of high school, the LASA High and LBJ Fire Academy Class of '24 spent our lunches here. There's lots of space and lots of delicious options to accompany our studies and conversations. The staff are amazing, conversational, considerate, and mindfully adept at their jobs. The patio seating is awesome especially on good temp days. Graduating this past May and having gone to college, we had a reunion (one that won't be the last) and we're all satisfied to say that we missed the place, the food, and the people. ”
“ Libbie was amazing, very fast and had patience with me with all my questions I had. Thank you so much, we will be back because of her and the amazing bartender! Drinks, food was delicious! ”
“ Didn’t know this Torchy’s was here and I looooved it! Food was great, service was nice and atmosphere is perfect. Obviously recommend queso and Baja shrimp tacos 10/10 ”
“ Coming to Torchys for breakfast has become my son and I’s new little tradition. They have the best tacos, even my 2 year old loves them! Not to mention how accommodating they are when you order the cheese on the side Key to a toddler’s heart! ”
“ One of the best restaurant chains if you're craving tacos or Mexican food in Austin! We ordered both the available options in their veggie tacos section and were impressed by the generous stuffing. The fried avocado taco was good but the Fo Sho veggie taco stole the show with amazing flavors. The cheese quesadilla was also good but surprisingly at room temp. Expected it to be a little warm. They were also able to make one of their signature cocktails, Sucker Punch, as a non-alcoholic mocktail and it was really good Parking is somewhat difficult if you go during peak hours but there's an HEB so you can always park there and walk. Don't miss their happy hours from 4 to 6 pm when all the tacos are at 1 off and drinks at 2 off Nice ambience and they have outdoor seating as well..! ”
“ Jonathan is excellent! Made me one of the best margaritas I've ever had! Friendly service, good food, damn good drinks. ”
“ I had a wonderful experience at Torchy’s Mueller, thanks to the exceptional service from the manager, Casey. He was incredibly polite, attentive, and made sure our visit was superb . The food was outstanding and delicious. The combination of great service and amazing food made for a truly memorable visit. Highly recommended! ”
